The Texas Medical Association has endorsed Chris DeCluitt for State Representative in District 56.

The Texas Medical Association, the nation’s largest and one of the oldest and most powerful state medical societies, speaks out for nearly 45,000 physician and medical student members across Texas in their commitment to improve the health of all Texans. In partnership with 120 county medical societies, the TMA has been helping Texas physicians set high professional and ethical standards since 1853.

DeCluitt responded, “I am very pleased and proud to have the endorsement of the Texas Medical Association. The great doctors of our state take their profession and their responsibility to Texas citizens very seriously. They analyze the issues and legislation that affects the lives and economic opportunities for the citizens of Texas. I am truly honored to have earned their support.”

Chris DeCluitt is a native Wacoan and a graduate of Waco High School, Texas A&M and the University of Tulsa Law School. He is President of the Sovereign Corporation, a local company that deals in property management. He is past Chairman of the Brazos River Authority board, (appointed by Governor Rick Perry), past chairman of the Waco Jaycees, and Waco Lodge #137 IOOF. He is Past Master of the J.H. Gurley Lodge #337, AF&AM. He has served on the board of directors of the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation. He has served as a Republican Precinct Chairman, Election Judge, State Convention Delegate (nine times), as the Senate District 22 State Republican Executive Committeeman and President of the McLennan County Republican Club. Chris and his wife Kristi have one daughter and one son and live in Waco.
