Chris DeCluitt

Chris is committed to seeing McLennan County succeed at every level. He is a native Wacoan and is raising his young daughter and son here with his wife, Kristi. A graduate of Waco High School, Chris has been involved with his community and the local Republican Party since his late mother, Nell, “took” him to his first National Convention in the summer of 1968. Chris was born on December 13 of that year.

Chris graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Electrical Engineering then continued his education at the University of Tulsa College of Law where he met his wife, Kristi.

He practiced patent law in Dallas before being called back home to Waco to run the family business begun in the 1970s by his father, Doug–who himself was one of the early leaders of the McLennan County Republican party and a candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 1968.

Chris is thankful to those pioneers who brought the GOP to its prominence in Texas politics today. He also recognizes that we must move forward by embracing the new voices, new ideas, and new faces that are working to keep our conservative ideals at the forefront moving into the future. Chris will be a representative for ALL the citizens of McLennan County.
